Backups Made Easy

Let's face it! We all need to backup our important documents, but who really does it regularly? I'm probably the most optimistic person I know, but what if your hard drive crashed right now? What if you’re out for lunch, you return and your notebook is gone? How much work would you lose right now?

Unfortunately these things happen, and trust me; I’ve experienced all of the above first hand with clients. In one case someone actually resigned when she lost all her data – but that’s the extreme.

We search for new software and ideas regularly and are very pleased to tell you about this amazing service I discovered a while ago. Obviously I’ve been testing it myself and am using it on a daily basis.

It’s called Mozy...

It’s so easy to use and the best – It’s free! All you need to do is create an account, login, download a small software program that does everything for you once you’ve done the setup. You will be able to backup all your files online from any location where you have internet access!

It scans the files you selected to backup, then backs up the files on a remote server. Yes, it's secure! You only have 2Gig free, should you need more, you can subscribe and purchase more space. But 2 Gig is a lot of data! Obviously you won’t be backing up unnecessary files like mp3’s or video clips.

 
You can select certain files or folders to backup, schedule when it should happen, run the backup manually, restore files from the last backup or previous backups (you don’t need the original pc to do the restores) and it’s totally secure!
